The newest and fashionable street of Yerevan.
Construction plan of Northern Avenue was designed by the architect Alexander Tamanian back in the 1900 's. After the establishment of Soviet power project was canceled, and only in the late 1990 's about it again remembered.
Construction of Northern Avenue was accompanied by protests by residents forcibly evicted from their apartments and private houses that stood on this site. Work on the building began in 2001 year in 2007 North Avenue was opened. Firstly, in connection with such a daunting history building, Avenue caused a lot of controversy. But residents gradually adopted it. Now on the Avenue there are luxury housing, trendy shops and cafes, street artists and musicians. Townspeople loved to walk there.
